Not every wire rope is automatically suitable for a cable winch. Such a rope must have certain properties that make it suitable for use with a winch:

• It must be designed for high tensile forces, such as in elevator and conveyor technology when pulling an elevator.
• It must be particularly flexible and be able to be wound and unwound smoothly by the winch.
• The rope construction must have good bending properties.
• The steel cable must be made of stainless steel or galvanized to be suitable for outdoor use
• The length and diameter of the rope must be precisely matched to the cable winch and also to the application.
• It is often necessary for the wire rope to be fitted with hooks or thimbles so that it can be attached to a vehicle or forestry winches, for example.

• Galvanized steel ropes: These ropes are the most commonly used. They have a high strength and are coated with a layer of zinc, which provides a certain degree of corrosion protection. They are suitable for applications where the rope is occasionally exposed to moisture.
• Stainless steel ropes: Made from stainless steel, our stainless steel ropes offer high corrosion resistance and are ideal for use in marine environments or areas where hygiene is important.
• Bare wire ropes: In addition, we offer ropes made from untreated steel. They are intended for applications where no additional corrosion protection is required.
