FAQs – 18×7+WSC steel ropes

The WSC variant (steel core) is always the better choice when maximum breaking force and dimensional stability are required. Especially with multi-layer winding on rope drums, the steel core prevents the rope from being flattened under load or cutting into the lower layers.

Due to its solid core, the 18×7+WSC rope is slightly stiffer than the variant with fiber insert. Although it offers excellent bending behavior for a low-twist rope, it requires more stable deflection pulleys and precise rope guidance in order to fully exploit the advantages of its high load capacity.
