18×7+FC – high-quality wire rope with elastic fiber core
For demanding applications, we offer 18×7+FC wire ropes, which are highly flexible and low-twist thanks to their fiber core. Whether in construction, industry, or offshore applications, you can rely on our proven wire rope, which perfectly combines smooth running and durability.
Designation: 18×7+FC refers to a wire rope with 18 strands, each consisting of 7 fine steel wires. Inside is an elastic fiber core (FC = Fiber Core).

Properties: 18×7+FC is slender, enabling particularly smooth bending behavior and reducing internal stress during movement. The fiber insert supports this effect and ensures a longer service life by effectively cushioning compressive forces and impacts and lubricating the rope.
Application: The rope is perfect for systems with many deflections and drum operation as well as for uniform bending changes and is used, for example, as a hoisting rope, winch rope, or traction rope.
Material: The surface is galvanized as standard and suitable for outdoor use in various sectors/industries.
Versions at Hamburger Drahtseilerei: We supply 18×7+FC as high-quality galvanized wire rope by the meter, optionally with specific coating and/or matching end fittings.

Areas of application for 18×7+FC
Customized end fittings & sheathing for your wire rope
To ensure that your 18×7+FC wire rope can be optimally integrated into your application, we offer customized end fittings and sheathing. Depending on the intended use, we manufacture, for example, thimbles for cranes, eyelets for hoisting ropes, or clamps for stage and event technology. A plastic sheathing offers additional protection against abrasion, moisture, and contamination. Please contact us for your rope options.

With a steel core instead of a fiber core – when is 18×7+WSC the better choice?
If higher dimensional stability and load-bearing capacity are required, the 18×7+WSC variant (with steel cable core) may be the right alternative. It is less elastic than 18×7+FC, but offers higher compressive strength in multi-layer operation. We would be happy to advise you on which design is more suitable for your application.
