6x36WS+IWRC – Wire rope with Warrington-Seale arrangement & independent steel rope core

Discover our 6×36WS+IWRC wire rope, which ensures smooth running, high stability, and excellent performance in dynamic applications thanks to its Warrington-Seale strand structure and independent wire rope core. The construction is ideal for deflections, drum operation, and changing loads. Learn more about the construction here and also when, for example, a fiber insert might be the better choice.

Designation: The construction consists of six strands, each with 36 wires in a Warrington-Seale arrangement (WS) for a dense, resilient structure. An independent wire rope core (IWRC) in the center of the rope provides additional strength and dimensional stability.

Properties: The Warrington-Seale construction ensures an even, compact surface that optimally distributes pressure on rollers and drums. The IWRC core as an independent steel rope gives the design greater strength and temperature resistance as well as better dimensional stability.

Application: The 6×36WS+IWRC construction impresses with its compressive strength and smooth, controlled running. Typical areas of application are winch ropes in industrial environments and crane and hoisting ropes in lifting systems. This design is particularly advantageous for high loads and continuous operation.

Material: The wire rope is available in a galvanized version and is therefore ideally suited for robust applications.

Versions at Hamburger Drahtseilerei: In galvanized and customized versions – we also offer the wire rope with coating and/or custom-made end fastenings.

6x36WS+IWRC as winch rope

The design is ideal for use as a winch rope, especially for demanding industrial applications. The stable IWRC core prevents the rope from constricting on the drum and ensures clean, dimensionally stable winding. The Warrington Seale structure ensures smooth running over rollers and even load distribution. Even with frequent changes of direction and high tensile loads, the rope remains reliably in shape.

Also with Warrington-Seale, but with fiber core – when should I use 6x36WS+FC?

The choice is yours… – The 6×36WS version is also available with a fiber core (FC), so the designation is: 6×36WS+FC. This means that this design also has a Warrington-Seale construction, but contains a fiber core. This ensures softer bending behavior and greater flexibility with small deflection radii. If the focus is on particularly smooth running and lower stiffness, 6×36WS+FC may be advantageous. 6×36WS+IWRC, on the other hand, offers greater stability, higher compressive strength, and better suitability for heavy loads. The right choice therefore depends on the drum size, load, and duration of use. We would be happy to advise you individually.

FAQs – 6x36WS+IWRC steel cables

6×36WS+IWRC is available in various diameters by the meter. On request, we can cut the cable to your exact length, including custom designs.

The key difference between IWRC and FC lies in the rope core. While a fiber insert makes the rope particularly soft and flexible, an independent steel wire rope core provides significantly greater strength and dimensional stability. IWRC constructions are less sensitive to pressure loads, heat, and deformation on the drum. This makes them more suitable for heavy loads and intensive continuous use.

Of course. On request, we can supply the wire rope with custom-made end fittings to suit your application.

Yes, of course. You can contact us at any time with any technical questions you may have about wire ropes, constructions such as 6×36WS+IWRC, material selection, or applications. We will advise you personally, review your requirements together, and help you select the right rope construction as well as custom-made or assembled products.
